Pearl Microphones has been awarded "Editor's Choice" in Germany's Professional Audio Magazin 2012.
Here's what they wrote:
"As an exception, the microphone surprise of the year 2012 did not come out of the microphone paradise Germany but from Sweden. These noble sound instruments with their characteristic rectangular membranes have some really special sonic features. The sound of the standard model CC 22 seems to be a mixture between large and small membranes. It can be used universally and is consequently a real top-of-the-line microphone. This is also true for the exotic flagship DS 60, a dual capsule/quad membrane microphone which enables the basic sound quality of the CC 22 for easily accessible stereo- or surround recordings. Clearly, this is awesome."
From all of us here in Åstorp, Sweden: "Big thanks to Germany! - Recht herzlichen Dank an alle unsere Partner, Kunden, Freunde, Fans und Kollegen in Deutschland!"
Pearl Microphones has entered into an agreement Dewaudio for the marketing and distribution of Pearl's products in South Africa. Dewald Visser, Dewaudio's owner mentioned that he is "proud to be in a position to offer these second-to-none microphones to the South African market."
Sven Olof Andersson, Pearl's Chairman, says that "With Dewald on board, we will cooperate with one of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic recording persons I have ever come across. I look forward to benefit from Dewaudio's expertise in microphone technology for years to come".
Pearl Review in Recording Magazin 4/12 (Germany) - "Das Klangbild des Pearl ELM-C mit seiner ungewöhnlichen Rechteck-Kapsel war deutlich natürlicher und offener" / ["The sonic image of Pearl ELM-C with its unusual rectangular capsule was clearly more natural and open"]
